For more than 60 years, Sioux Falls Noon SERTOMA, has sponsored Troop 48. In 2000, the club built a new scout house for the troop replacing a WW-II vintage guard shack that had served as the troop's meeting place since the late 1940's. Members procured donations of materials and did much of the construction themselves.

Only four out of 100 Boy Scouts attains the rank of Eagle Scout. Members of Troop 48 recently receiving their Eagle Awards were: Ryan Severson, Shawn McGrann, Josh Rocklage and T.J. Nelson.
