PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
By Dan Westphalen
Fellow Sertomans:
It is my honor to serve as your President for the Sioux Falls Noon Sertoma Club this year. I have only been with the club for a few short years but I have witnessed what we can do as a club if we put our minds to it.
Part of our calling as a group is to step in and serve those in our community that are less fortunate than ourselves. Sertoma gave me a chance to take part in a fund raiser that honored Carolyn Downs for her service and subsequently established an endowment of $400,000 plus for The Banquet to ensure its operation for years to come. This happened because someone in our club had a good idea. We need more good ideas, to raise more money, to help more good people.
This is what we are about, men, friends, Sertoman’s working together for a common cause to benefit someone other than ourselves. People in the community are looking for ways to serve, they might as well serve with us (new members). Last year we added 50+ new members because of your hard work and the continual prodding from our past President.
People in our community are also looking for a good cause to support, they might as well support through us (Sertoma donations). This year I challenge you to seek out donations for our club to allow us to continue supporting the community like we have in the past.
Sincerely,
Dan Westphalen
2009-2010 President
Sioux Falls Noon Sertoma Club
